Take Action: Reclaim Our Food System

Join the Landworkers’ Alliance (LWA) as we celebrate Via Campesina’s International day of Peasant Struggle:  Meet Wednesday April 29th, outside the Bury St Edmunds Railway Station, 1pm.

Last year the LWA took our message to DEFRA, this year we are targeting British Sugar PLC to expose the inequality and problems inherent in our industrial food system. Government support of big agri-businesses, like British Sugar PLC, threatens the health of our communities and the quality of our environment. And we’re subsidising exactly the wrong sort of agriculture.

Spring Seed Workshops

We are pleased to announce our upcoming workshops for this spring.   These workshops will provide you with the information necessary to start saving seed this year. We will cover choosing which varieties to save, considerations for avoiding cross-pollination, choosing which plants to select, and the practical aspects of saving seed from your plants. Growers and gardeners with no previous experience are welcome.

Statement of Support to ‘Rising Up’ Bristol

Rising Up’ are a collective of activists that have halted development of a metro-bus only junction on a piece of strategic agricultural land in Frenchay, Bristol.

We put our support behind the action to protect Feed Bristol and the Stapleton allotments from the metro–bus only junction in Frenchay, Bristol. The land in question is of great significance due to its strategic importance in re-instating the historic market gardens of Bristol that could once again provide much of the city’s food. We are in no way opposed to public transport, but believe that it is possible to improving the city’s bus system whilst safeguarding habitats and agricultural land.…
