Venue Announced & Date Change: UK Food Sovereignty Movement Gathering

Message from the UK Food Sovereignty Movement Gathering Core Group:

We’ve found a great venue for the national food sovereignty gathering in Hebden Bridge. The date has been changed to 23-26 October due to availability. This is a couple of weeks later than we originally planned and we hope that this will still work for everyone.

There is a core group of growers, activists, community groups and NGOs that has been pulling  the gathering together. We’ve been meeting on a monthly basis to come up with a plan. And finally we have some news that we want to tell everyone about! We have decided on a venue.

The national food sovereignty gathering will be held in The Birchcliffe Centre, Hebden Bridge.  With its proximity to the urban centres of Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester, and some great growing projects including Edible Incredible in Todmorden, its central location in the UK and its closeness to transport networks we thought this will be an ideal location to bring everyone together.

However – In order to make the booking we had to change the date from the initial one that we proposed. So please cross out the 2nd – 5th October in your diaries and put in 23rd – 26th October. We’re sorry about the confusion but the venue was too good to miss out on.

Please  spread the word – telling all about the confirmed date and location.

And we’ll be posting an online survey in the next weeks so we can collect information to help shape the programme for the gathering

Best wishes,

The Core Group
